
Zaha Hadid Design presented new product designs at this year’s Maison & Objet in Paris with the debut of the Plex vessel and further extensions to the Cell, Pulse, Duo and Serenity collections.

CreaLed creatively by co-directors Maha Kutay and Woody Yao, the company is introducing limited-edition objects, including candles, candleholders, platters and salt & pepper grinders. Comprised of two elements, the new Plex vessel in crystal can be stacked vertically to conceal its contents or separated into parts that nest together.






Also new for 2020, the black Obsidian scented candle, an addition to the Shimmer collection, As a recent addition to the product collection, the new Pulse platter conveys an exaggerated articulation of its pleated glass – a signature of the Pulse family of objects – highlighting the asymmetry of its design.


Meanwhile, the limited edition Serenity centrepiece in transparent polished acrylic draws inspiration from Hadid’s innovative formal language of fluidity, its pristine surface interrupted by ripples that refract and reflect light.


Also new for 2020, the black Obsidian scented candle, an addition to the Shimmer collection, is introduces scents of smoky cade, cedar leaf, black pepper and cumin seed.

The Shimmer candles are a composition of faceted, flame-polished glass that transitions from a rounded base to a hexagonal peak. Inspired by Zaha Hadid’s research into architectural towers, the candles can be reused as a sculptural container.
